Training at Medical University Plovdiv
Medical University Plovdiv offers full-time study programmes for Bulgarian and international students. Selected programmes are available in English, providing international students with the opportunity to complete their studies in a modern academic and clinical environment.
The duration of study varies according to the educational and qualification degree and the chosen programme.
- Bachelor’s degree: duration depends on the selected programme.
- Master’s degree: duration depends on the selected programme.
- PhD: duration depends on the doctoral programme and applicable academic requirements.
The training includes theoretical education, practical training, clinical education, examinations, internships, and other academic requirements applicable to the selected programme.
The annual tuition fee is €10,000. The tuition fee is payable according to the university’s payment schedule and applicable regulations.
Students who successfully complete all academic requirements receive the relevant university degree in accordance with the requirements of their chosen programme.

Faculty of Medicine
Medicine – full-time training. The programme provides comprehensive theoretical and practical medical education, preparing students for professional careers as physicians. Students receive training in basic medical sciences, clinical disciplines, practical skills, and clinical practice.
Faculty of Dental Medicine
Dental Medicine – full-time training. The programme prepares students for professional practice in dentistry through comprehensive theoretical, practical, and clinical education.
Faculty of Pharmacy
Pharmacy – full-time training. Students receive education in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal products, pharmacology, pharmaceutical technology, and professional practice.
Faculty of Public Health

Faculty of Health Care

Doctoral Programmes

Application Documents
The admission is based on the following documents:
- A copy of the document for completed secondary education and supplement with the grades
- A document issued by a competent authority certifying that the applicant has the right to pursue his/her studies in higher education institutions in the country where the secondary education was acquired
- Transcript of Records – for students applying for recognition of periods of study completed in higher education institutions in a foreign country
- A medical certificate issued no earlier than one month prior to the date of submitting the application
- Copy of ID card or passport
- 6 recent colour photos in passport size (3.5 / 4.5 cm).
Admission Criteria
In order to apply for studies to Varna Free University, the minimum mean rating mark from specific subjects, taught at school SHOULD NOT be less than 62% out of the maximum value of the assessment system in the respective country.
